The transmission, dispatching, developing and safety Code (Grid Code) is applied in relations between Terna and grid users starting November 1, 2005. This document was drawn up in compliance with the provisions stated in Prime Minister Decree dated May 11, 2004 regarding unification between ownership and management of the grid.
The Plan represents the tool for developing the national electricity transmission grid and is drafted each year by Terna based on the following: the trend of the electricity demand and the forecast of the electricity demand to be met; the need to upgrade the grid; the requests for connecting new generation plants to the grid.
