Terna has open building sites for investments equaling 2.9 billion euros. It also has investments for over 1 billion euros stalled owing to authorization delays.

These are strategic works, some of which are being coordinated while others awaiting authorization for over four years.

Fundamental infrastructures planned for eliminating congestion along the national electricity transmission grid.

Terna's investments are ready for developing the Italian grid, but an effort is needed on the part of everyone, central and local authorities, to further accelerate the procedures for Delayed works awaiting authorization.

From 2005 to 2010, investments increased by 5 times: from approximately 260 to over 1 billion euros a year.
Terna's economic commitment has lead to results for the existing grid congestion's safety, management and reduction.

A lot still needs to be done.

For example, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, where in order not to be left in the dark, urgent modernization measures are necessary for the region's entire electricity system.
