During 2006, based on recommendations of the Authority for Electricity and Gas, Terna was involved in regional initiatives undertaken by the Regulators within the European Group of Regulators (ERGEG) e link) to harmonize market regulations with a regional approach.
Terna’s role is carried out through the participation in the Implementation Group for the central-southern European area that involves Grid Operators and Regulators in Italy, France, Austria, Slovenia, Germany and Greece, under the coordination of the AEEG.
Within this context, Regulators and neighboring Grid Operators jointly defined criteria and methods for implementing coordinated procedures for allocating interconnection capacity for 2007, according to the provisions of EC Regulation n. 1228/2003.
