  • Operation & maintenance engineer

    Main Activities

    • Management of all issues relating to the operation and maintenance of the national electricity grid (stations and lines)
    • Use of the company’s managerial and/or technical IT systems (Office, SAP, MBI, LIDAR, AutoCAD, etc.)
    • Preparation of specifications, technical documents, small-scale planning of maintenance work on Lines and/or Stations.
    • Coordination of O&M activities on HV/LV Command Control and Station Protection/Automation System apparatus.
    • Design of HV electrical installations (power lines and stations)
    • Management of activities at the construction site
    • Activities linked to the operation and maintenance of the electrical installations

    Required skills

    • Two-year graduate degree [Laurea Magistrale]/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (principally Excel)
    • Good knowledge of English
    • Propensity to carry out planning activities in the context of HV installations (power lines and stations)
    • Propensity to manage construction sites with external companies, including in terms of safety
    • Knowledge of managerial aspects, including activities for requesting the purchase of materials and issuing calls to tender
    • Good knowledge of calculation systems for electromagnetic fields
    • Knowledge of management systems

  • Dispatch and asset-management engineer

    Ideal candidates are new graduates who have attained a specialisation degree in Electrical, Electronic, Energy or Mechanical Engineering.

    Main Activities

    • Issues relating to power lines (overhead lines and cable lines) and power stations; systems and components
    • Analysis of anomalies and malfunctions through the use of expert systems and the relative summaries
    • Analysis of installation records
    • Preparation of maintenance plans; requesting and gathering of data
    • Supporting other departments/functions in relation to asset-management aspects
    • Overseeing specialist IT systems
    • Preparing technical specifications, performing testing activities and activities aimed at the implementation of tools/applications
    • Technical-economic analysis of the behaviour of the market for services supporting dispatch operations processes
    • Analysis of situations and the expected evolution of the Dispatch activities supporting operation of the electricity system

    Required skills

  • Operations & maintenance office staff/blue-collar worker

    Technical staff


    Technical staff support the coordination of maintenance activities and the construction of installations on High-Voltage power lines, contributing to the planning of technical and safety aspects of operational activities, through the performance of administrative and back-office activities (i.e. specific reporting)

    Blue-collar workers

    Blue-collar workers at Terna are responsible for activities involving the operation, maintenance, restoration and development of High-Voltage overhead and underground power lines, or electrical transformer substations.

    Requirements

    • Five-year technical diploma, preferably electrical-, electronics-, or mechanics-based
    • Between 18 and 29 years of age
    • Holder of a category-B driving licence
    • Ability to work in a group and problem solving skills, sensitivity to safety issues.
    • Employees will be hired on professional training apprenticeship contracts, and a course of training and shadowing will be provided, with the support of a company mentor.
