TOTAL LOAD
This refers to the total demand for electricity that must be met by the system. Trends vary over time, depending on the time of day, day of the week, and month of the year.
MARKET LOAD
This describes the trend in Italian demand in relation to the so-called “market perimeter”. In other words, it represents the amount of energy placed onto the grid at the exchange points by the production units involved in the electricity market.
PEAK-VALLEY LOAD
These are the maximum ("peak") and minimum ("valley") values of the total demand for electricity throughout the Italian electricity grid.
